Check out this really cute pincushion that my girlfriend Rosalia made for me! She is a fantastic garment sewer…..She also crochet and knits……… She is my biggest fan for my craft projects! She has already given me two orders for quilts that she needs for Christmas gifts for her grand kids……. One is for her granddaughter she want Disney Princesses and one for her grandson Thomas the Train……. I’m on the hunt for the fabric now and I have a few ideas spinning in my head as to what patterns I may use………

My latest arrival of magazines came in so I my get some inspiration from them.

Well we did it… as they say “the checks in the mail”………here is a look at the new long arm machine that we’re purchasing………and this is the one that we’re saying goodbye too We’re going to keep the sewing machine because it a great machine, we’re just letting go of the frame………As you can see the new machine/frame is going to need a much bigger room so, I’m in the process of changing rooms around……..not such a fun job……..I’ve been taking my time to get it all done just right……the new machine will not be here until the second week of September……. I can hardly wait…let the fun begin.

So in preparation for the new machine I have to get a few quilt tops completed…….so here is a little look at one I’ve been working on ……… This quilt has 20 different 1/2 yards of colored fabric in it….it was a lot of fun picking out all the colors….Chris made me templates out of plexi-glass to use for cutting the pieces…….he’s so great………he knew I would have struggled using cardboard/plastic…….each 1/2 yard has taken one hour and 20 minutes to trace and cut……. I’ve labeled and placed each section in a different baggies……I still have a whole lot more to cut………….

Have you been watching the Olympics……USA rocks….It’s pretty exciting watching Phelps in swimming and breaking world records, the gymnastic Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson going 1-2, the beach volleyball girls May-Treanor and Walsh and everybody else…….. I’ve been staying up way to late at night but I do get some stitching accomplished…….

Here are my latest from Capricorn Quilts………. the sharp and steady needles is a bonus block and the quick and easy cooking was the July block…. I have the August block ready for stitching………….I also have been stitching the Noah’s Ark blocks here are the last two

They are so darn cute that I’ve decided to make two………you see we have a new grandbaby on the way……..We don’t know what the sex of the baby is yet…. it’s to soon to tell……so I haven’t decided on the fabric that I’ll use for these just yet………..until next time………..

So, I haven’t been doing much lately…… so I thought I’d show you a couple of pictures……On my travels this summer I’ve been collecting thimbles I have a few others but I was going to have to search too much to find them, so these were the lucky ones that got into this post….The wooden object in the back ground is a thimble holder that I bought at a Amish Store in Maynard when I was home visiting my mom……love it……….While I was showing you my collection of thimbles I decided to take a picture of my rooster collection. This is really a small glance at my collection. These are just the one that that I have at work!
I’ve some exciting news to share…………while we were at the quilt festival in LB we were checking out all the long arm machines……….We have decided to purchase the Innova Long Arm Quilting Machine you can check it out at this link www.abminternational.com/quilting_innova_overview.html …… I’m a little nervous about this purchase …..it’s a lot of money to dish out for a hobby (?) ………until next time…..take care………..

I guess I didn’t buy as much as I thought!…….

That was a good thing actually…………We also met Chris’ favorite quilt teacher Eleanor Burns…….He was so excited that we didn’t even get a picture with her…..I think that he was embarrassed or too fluttered…… it was really quite funny, but she did autograph her new Victory Quilts Book for us ……….I picked up a couple of stitchery patterns…..I figured they might come in handy for the Stitchers‘ Angel Swap that I’m going to participate in…….I also bought a few patterns from the 1/4″ Publishing……a few fat quarters and some wool…..take care………..

All I can say is wow!………………The Quilt Festival was fantastic!……….I don’t think that Long Beach had any idea that it was going to be so huge………. I had so much fun but, was on stimulation overload …….Everyones booth was so pretty but, you could hardly get into them to check out what they had to offer…….I’ll post what I did manage to buy later…….I was there on Friday… I can’t even imagine what that place looked like on Saturday………….Here are a few pictures that I took at the quilt show…….The first one was called Puppy Love by Marliyn Smith Isn’t wonderful the little girl is so cute and the puppy’s not to bad either…… Here is another one called Fatal Attraction by Sandy Curran………I bet you can’t tell that I love animals can you……….. Here is another one called Ladies of the Louvre by Annette Hendricks…..It is really fantastic…….. and then there was this one I didn’t get who the artist was but being a country girl I really thought that it was well done …. This is the last one that I’ll show you…… it was fantastic……….. It’s a mosaic of the Last Supper… I didn’t see a sign posted about who the artist was that made this but it was amazing…. it seemed really powerful hanging above your head……. I have a lot more photo’s but those were a few of my favorites……………….take care…………

I’m going to Long Beach CA to the International Quilt Festival! ….I’m really excited to be attending this event……I’ve never been to anything like this before……so be prepared for when I return I will post pictures….take care……..

I had a little time to kill and decided that I’d stop into a thrift store that I haven’t been in …. I took a look around and came to the craft pile…..They had a bag will a bunch of fabric in it …….(not that I need anything to add to the piles of fabric from my previous post.. mind you)..But I could tell that it was mostly Christmas fabric………..It was only $3.00….. so I bought it……..When I got home I sat outside and opened up the bag……inside the bag were more bags and that’s when I discovered these…………

Who ever had this was making nine patches and all the blocks were cut into 2 1/2 inch squares…..so I sat and sorted them into little piles………..I had no idea that these were in there……..How fun!…………..until next time ………take care………….

Not to much happening around here…….cleaning, painting, organizing………What’s a girl to do when all the rooms in the house are affected? ……… You get to sit and stitch, so here is my latest project …… I remembered that I had the rooster fabric that I found at the thrift store and you know what, it’s the perfect boarder for it………..don’t you think………It’s still not completely finished because I can’t get into my sewing room with all the organizing going on and I’m not sure that I want to show you this but here is what my sewing room looks like …..… this is view looking into the room which doesn’t look to bad…….haha…… Can you see Tubby there she like things all crazy like this she has more places to hide…….. ………… then when you get inside this is what you see…………and hopefully I’ll be able to show you how nice it looks….. when I get it finished……….I’m color sorting my fabric and they will end up in these bins when I’m done ….…………take care……….
